Microsoft is remodeling its Xbox app in Windows 10. The efforts to remodel their app is to create the perfect desktop experience in regard to the gaming console.
The most prominent change in all of this is the name of the app. The Xbox app is to be named as “Xbox Console Companion” from this point onward. As per a message from the company, this application will be a dedicated app for Xbox’s console features and will host various settings as well.
Although there are not any changes in the app itself, it feels compact and nice, the change in the name of the app could hint at something bigger. Furthermore, this also means that the change in the name could mean that the PCs, the Xbox and the next generation of Xbox will work and function together as well.
This new concept of changing the name of the app offers a hint to a promising future. Furthermore, as per the latest update, Microsoft has just added the Game Bar option. This new feature, on the contrary, makes the present Xbox app feel less than impressive and a bit redundant.
More information on the Xbox application will be revealed at the E3 2019, which will be held on 9th June. One thing that is for certain is that the Xbox application, the new and modified version, will lay down the groundwork for the future.
As per some reports, Phil Spencer, executive vice-president of Gaming at Microsoft has been trying to shift the focus of the company back to computer gaming. This new step that merges computers and gaming consoles could be the beginning of a new era in the field of computer gaming.
